Cumberland Island Beach
Cumberland Island is world famous for its beaches, not only because of the pristine sandy shore that stretches for miles, but also because a wild horse may join you on the beach! Accessible only by boat (although there is ferry service to the island), there is always plenty of room to stake a claim to your private spot on the beach. Pets are welcome on a leash.
Turn north at marker red 34. Anchor in Cumberland Sound and dinghy to the north dock at the Park Service Station. Walk about a half mile to the beach on the eastern side of the island.
